It is the biggest day of the season an the match officials were well represented by those timekeepers and interchange stewards appointed to the 2025 AFL Grand Final

Andrew Cross completed 250 AFL matches as an interchange steward with his appointment to the 2025 Second Semi-final Q-Clash played at The Gabba between Brisbane and Gold Coast on 13 September.

An outstanding achievement given the number of games in Queensland.

He’s been sitting on 149 for a while but in Round 22 Ryan Warburton acted as interchange steward in his 150th match. It was the almost upset of the season West Coast v. Adelaide at Perth Stadium.

Double celebrations in Sydney

The final home and away round in Sydney was a big day for timekeepers Frank Lourey and Jennifer Button.

For Jennifer Sydney v. Adelaide at the SCG was the first AFL match of what will hopefully be a long career. Congratualtions Jennifer.

In the seat next door Frank celebrated his 100th AFL match. 100 matches is a major milestone in any football endeavour and especially so at the elite level. Congratulations Frank.

600 AFL matches deserves serious accolades and that meant coverage of the event from the host broadcaster.

Double timekeeping celebrations in Round 20

Congratulations to Andrew Miller who was on the clock for the 250th time in the Q-clash on the Gold Coast.

Heading south we congratulate Sydney timekeeper Glen Callaghan who officiated in his 150th AFL match at the Sydney v. Western Bulldogs match at the SCG.

Well done to both.

Sam Kronja racked up his 200th AFL match as an Interchange Steward when he officiated at the recent Round 11 Fremantle v. Collingwood draw at Perth Stadium. Add in his 9 AFL matches as a field umpire in 1996-1997 and he sits on a combined 209 AFL matches

Another 2024 Queensland milestone in Round 10 with Rohan Briggs bringing up his 150th AFL match as a timekeeper. Rohan was on the siren for the Brisbane v. Richmond clash at the Gabba. A 32 goal match would have stretched out the quarters.

The AFLs most experienced interchange steward has achieved yet another milestone. Adam Gulliver was on the bench for the Round 8 Richmond v. Fremantle match at the MCG in AFL match number 350.

Following close on the heels of Micahel Sexton, this week we congratulate Victorian based timekeeper Stan Pettett who was on the siren for the Geelong v. Carlton match at the MCG on 27 April. The match was his 250th AFL match.

Great work Michael Sexton.

Michael was one of the timekeepers at the Round 5 Melbourne v. Brisbane clash at the MCG. As such he completed his 250th AFL match in that role. Of course add to that his 6 AFL matches as a field umpire in 1997 and his match total becomes that much more (probably some emergency jobs in there as well).

Gather Round saw two milestones achieved by match officials

Ash Thomas, whose first of three matches for the weekend was his 150th AFL match when he time kept the Fremantle v. Carlton match at Adelaide Oval to bring up the milestone.

Also having multiple matches on the weekend got Dusty-Lea Gould to her 150th AFL match as an interchange steward when she officiated at the West Coast v. Sydney match at Mount Barker.

Round 1 was big in the west. Congratulations to timekeeper Adam Peacock who officiated in his 150th match as an AFL timekeeper in the Fremantle v. Brisbane match,. Add in his 66 matches as an AFL goal umpire 2006-2012 and he is over the 200 involvements.

A big opening round for milestones both in the box and next to the gates

Congratulations to Lauren Schultz who bought up the double-ton with her 200th match as an interchange steward in the Brisbane v. Carlton match.

200 matches also to Chris Howarth-Crewdson whose first match in his Opening Round double-header also in the Brisbane v. Carlton match.

Jason Mitchell has combined both roles to bring up 100 matches. The ton was recorded at Carrara Gold Coast v. Richmond
